Saturday July 3, 2004. In the UK edition of Google News, two-thirds of the UK section stories were from Northern Ireland (four out of six). The other two were from Scotland. Nothing newsworthy was happening in London, it seems.
Realization: There will be Northern Ireland Troubles reenactors someday.

Then it struck me that I've only heard of military reenactors in the US and England. Are there such hobbyists elsewhere?

Later: A bit of googling turned up http://www.reenactors.net. There are military reenactors in Australia and Continental Europe. The site also lists non-military living history groups, groups which may include some combat, and Renaissance Faires.

To Terry Garey and Denny Lien's 20th Wedding Anniversary Party. A mix of sf-community people and library people, with some overlap. Library people predominated; there might have been more sf people if there hadn't been a Twin Cities convention (CONvergence -- not to be confused with Convergence) this weekend.

One attendee heard about slide rules for the first time.

Good food, good conversations.
Writing: Morning exercise -- Done.

Evening exercise -- Done.

"Well Met, Well Met, My Own True Love" -- A bit more added to the zero draft portion. Some rewording of dialog in the first draft portion, to make it more what the protagonist would say and how he would say it.

"They Might Be Windmills" --

"History Line" --
