Monday August 9, 2004. Left over from yesterday: "Gods of the dinosaurs return." Once this idea came into my mind, I began seeing it as an original-anthology theme.

It's not an idea I'm likely to use; anyone who can use it is free to do so.
Picked up meds at the HealthPartners Uptown pharmacy.

To Walker Library, where I found Charlie Stross's Iron Sunrise.

Decided to go from there to Steeple People thrift store and the Wedge.

Steeple People had a nice set of shelves (bins, actually) for $2. Fairly light, so I didn't have much trouble carrying them. On the other hand, it seemed like a good idea to take them straight home rather than going to the Wedge.

Started filling up the shelves/bins.
Writing: daily exercise -- James Joyce, Ulysses. To make this novel more relevant to today's world, needed changes were made. The protagonist is now former nun Leonora Bloom. Molly Bloom is now a transsexual. All references to tobacco (and particularly to smoking) have been replaced by references to cellphone use.

"Well Met, Well Met, My Own True Love" -- Inactive. The wrong two characters ended up in love, and there are too many complications. I expect to reuse some of it.

"They Might Be Windmills" -- Started on the first draft, or maybe the zero draft.

"History Line" --
"Port Useless" --
Decluttering: Got the shelves, started filling them. Got rid of less-useful shelves. Sorted through stuff.

Mindwork: Mini-meditations.
